CHAVÍN DE HUANTAR TEMPLE:
It´s one of the Huaraz main touristic places. It´s an archaeological site of the Chavín culture, with an antiquity between 1500 and 300 BC. It is located in the present department of Ancash in the province of Huari, 462 km from Lima and very close to Huaraz. It has an altitude of 3177 meters above sea level.
It was a sacred site for the Chavin culture, one of the oldest in Peru and America and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985
It is a small lagoon of an impressive turquoise color, located near Yungay. With 400 other lagoons are part of the Huascarán National Park, the waters of the lagoon come from the snowy Chacraraju, which today is in danger of disappearing due to climate change. For visit this lagoon it is necessary to make a walk of regular difficulty.
It is a snowy located in the department of Ancash and is part of the Cordillera Blanca. Its summit reaches 5240 meters above sea level. Due to the altitude, its summit is covered of snow and due to climate change its glacier is in the process of very fast melting. Experts say that it is possible that in 15 or 20 years the snowy will disappear in this place
QUEBRADA DE LLANGANUCO:
It´s located in the Cordillera Blanca, within the Huascaran National Park, declared by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve. It is formed by two lagoons Orconcocha (male lagoon) and Chinancocha (female lagoon)
HUASCARAN NATIONAL PARK:
It´s located in the department of Ancash, declared in 1985 as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for having in its land more than 16 snow-capped peaks above 6000 masl. These lands were inhabited by inhabitants of the Guitarrero culture from 1200 BC.
